A lot of Huawei smartphones this week suddenly with the Quik-app. The application is unsolicited installed on the devices of users.

Huawei Quik-install the app itself

Unexpectedly have many Huawei users this week suddenly an app on their smartphone. It’s going to Quik, an app from GoPro, which you can edit. The app installs itself and emerges suddenly, in the app list of users. There is no message or notification that an explanation for the sudden presence.

Huawei the Netherlands to Android Planet know that the situation is being investigated. The company could at this time no further reaction. How many devices exactly are affected, it is not entirely clear. From responses we have received seem to be among other things, the Huawei Mate 10 Pro, Honor 9, and a few other recent devices being affected. Huawei itself was at this time no answer on offer. Also, it is not clear whether the app is only in Dutch Huawei smartphones have surfaced, or even in other countries.

As you remove Quik

Try Quik to remove, then claims to be a system app. In a message warns you that only the updates are removed, but that the fabrieksversie on your device. However, that is not the case: once removed, all traces of the app disappear.

On virtually any Android smartphone you’ll find, in addition to the apps of Google, also has a handful of applications provided by the manufacturer, are included. Although there is sometimes convenient services, the vast majority of ‘bloatware’: redundant, non-removable apps. Sometimes the apps from the manufacturer itself, sometimes they are through a third party developed. In that last case, the manufacturer is often a small fee from the developer for each installation. That is probably also the case with Quik.

Users dissatisfied

It is particularly notable that Huawei, the app will silently add to the smartphones of users. There seem already many users to have to bother. In the Play Store are now dozens of comments from disgruntled users.

“We go now all the apps on someone’s mobile phone without permission,” writes one Mike M. Others call it a “crappy app” and indicate that they are “not amused”. The app has this week also a large number of reviews from 1 star it got.
